MUSEUM of the AMERICAN REVOLUTION
PHILADELPHIA, PA
The Museum of the American Revolution opened in 2017, telling the dramatic and suprising story of the American Revolution through an unmatched collection of art, documents, personal items, weapons and more. The museum’s immersive galleries, theater and interactive elements give visitors a deep appreciation for how the nation came to be.
Master Terrazzo designed and installed the main atrium’s terrazzo flooring as well as a rosette naming the original 13 colonies, surrounding a copper-clad cylindrical display case for the Declaration of Independence and other memorabilia.
This project recieved the 2018 National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association’s (NTMA) 2018 Honor Award for the “Chain of States” in the main gallery, and the timeless 2-color checkboard pattern floor in the central interior court. The NTMA is a trade association in Fredericksburg, Texas which honors exemplary work and establishes national standards for the terrazzo floor and wall systems industry. NTMA also provides architects and designers with no-cost specifications, color plates and general information on terrazzo systems.
